No one wants to spend a bunch of money on fixing cars, but I think Chris made this as good of an experience it could be. Definitely recommend. Haven't had the need for a mechanic's services is several years, and I have a long history of iffy outcomes with various shops around town, so I researched quite skeptically. Found Hardy Mechanics from reviews after quite a bit of research. While some folks might understandably have some hesitancy with an smaller, independent shop, I found that with auto repair in particualr, the bigger shops aren't any better of a bet (in terms of fair price, honesty, etc.), and I'm glad I tried Chris' shop out. I put an inquiry in via the website on my badly-neglected 2012 Highlander that sounded like it was gonna loose wheel pretty soon... Chris responded the same day, and we lined up a time to drop off my vehicle a couple days later for him to work it in. Chris is friendly, easy-going and communicates well with those of us who a bit ignorant in mech...

I am a long time customer of this establishment and highly recommend Chris Hardy for your auto repairs and maintenance. He's an excellent mechanic, easy to explain problems to, and will help you make decisions and work within your budget. I was referred to Chris by a friend and have done the same with friends and family. I own a 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and Chris is the reason I'm still driving the car I love. If you need a reliable and cost effective mechanic - he's your guy.

Steering Problems

What are the indications to seek that your vehicle might have falling short tie rods? Initially, maintain a careful eye on the damage to your tires. If the step on your front wheels appears to be wearing out faster than the remainder of your step, this can indicate that your wheel camber is off kilter.

Another sign of a failing tie rod is if your wheel makes a squeaking or screeching noise in the front when you transform the wheel. The audio is piercing and hard to miss. While the sound might possibly be from a malfunctioning ball joint, it's worth a seek to dismiss a defective tie rod all the same.

If your car's connection rod fails altogether, you might shed your steering abilities entirely. When this happens, the capacity for a crash is an instant danger, which is why companies like GM remembered a few of their Chevy Cruze models when they identified that the factory hadn't tightened the tie rods appropriately.

In a similar way, if you find that your steering capabilities seemed weak or shaky, like a loss in the connection between turning the steering wheel and the tires moving, this is one more important indicator that your tie rod should be checked and replaced.

Transmission Service

A transmission service is a regular part of routine cars and truck upkeep, much like an oil change.  This should be done every 30,000 miles to 60,000 miles depending on the car or truck. Check your manual for the exact time recommended by the manufacturer or just call us for a advise. The main facet of a transmission service is clearing out the old transmission fluid as well as changing it with new fluid. Nevertheless, a complete transmission service must likewise consist of: analyzing the sump pump or pan (when possible), replacing or cleansing the filter, cleaning the frying pan and installing it with a new pan gasket.
